For any transfer of ATCC Biological Material, it is our expectation that customers verify any third party restrictions/contributor rights associated with the specific materials. You may search for this information on the ATCC general collection catalog page, under the “View Restrictions” tab, in the general information tab. If you are planning to transfer patent deposit materials, please note that the transfer and commercial use restrictions in the ATCC Material Transfer Agreement (MTA) do not apply. This information is available under the “History” tab, after entering the ATCC catalog item number.

Modification
Means any substance that contains and/or incorporates a significant portion of ATCC Material, its Progeny or Unmodified Derivatives. By way of nonlimiting example, Modifications include ATCC Material that has been transfected with a reporter gene, induced pluripotent stem cells and mesenchymal stem cells that were derived from ATCC Material.
Unmodified Derivative
Means substances created by Purchaser which constitute an unmodified functional subunit or product expressed by ATCC Material. By way of nonlimiting example, Unmodified Derivatives include: purified or fractionated subsets of the ATCC Material, proteins expressed by DNA/RNA supplied by ATCC or monoclonal antibodies secreted by a hybridoma cell line.
